Mae Loree (Held) Allera

Mae Loree Held Allera 86 of Washington Twp. went to be with the Lord on Friday January 13, 2017 at her home. She was born May 11, 1930 in Bethel Twp. (Armstrong County) the daughter of the late Charles M. and Mae Vaughn Held. Before her retirement, she was employed at the Kiski Area School District in the cafeteria for seventeen years. Mae volunteered for Meals on Wheels for twenty-three years. She was a very active member of the Cornerstone Ministries in Export, Pa. She loved to volunteer her time, whether it be with her church, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, just to name a few. Mae was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who was happiest when involved with family activities. She is survived by her husband of sixty-six years, James Allera, a daughter, Tina L. Turnbaugh and her husband Tom of Lower Burrell, a son, James A. Allera and his wife Jeanne of Washington Twp., a grandson, Jess James and his fiancé Bethany Mort of Bell Twp., a brother Allen “Bunk” Held and his wife Charlotte of Laurel Point, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Family will receive friends on Monday January 16, 2017 from 5:00P.M. until time of services at 7:00 P.M. in the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home Ltd. 1916 Moore Ave. North Apollo, Pa. Services will be conducted in the funeral Home at 7:00 P.M. with Donn Chapman officiating.  Interment will be held in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell. Family suggest memorial contributions be made in Mae’s memory to The Vandergrift Public Library, 128C Washington Avenue, Vandergrift, PA 15690.
