Josephine “Chotch” (Piwowar) Vitali

Josephine Piwowar “Chotch” Vitali, age 97, of Nowrytown, Pa., passed away on Sunday, March
19, 2017 in the Communities at Indian Haven in Indiana, Pa. She was born Tuesday, October, 7,
1919 in Nowrytown, Pa., the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Maternak Piwowar.
Josephine was a member of the St. Matthew’s Roman Catholic Church in Saltsburg. She was a
homemaker that enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading newspapers from the past, socializing and
reminiscing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Angelo
“Pops” Vitali, two sisters, Frances M. Vitali and Laura Piwowar, three brothers, Peter, John and
Joseph Piwowar. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends
on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 from 4pm to 8pm at the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home LTD, 400
Indiana Ave, Avonmore, Pa. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, March 22,
2017 at 10am at St. Matthew’s Roman Catholic Church, Saltsburg, Pa. The Reverend Father
Salvatore Lamendola will serve as celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Matthew’s Church
Cemetery.
