Eugene Edward Alese Sr.

Eugene Edward Alese Sr. 81 of Vandergrift (Kepple Hill) passed away Thursday May 18, 2017 at Oakmont Care Center. He was born December 10, 1935 in Vandergrift the son of the late Anthony and Mary Febbraro Alese. Before his retirement, He was employed by the Armstrong County School District in maintenance for over 18 years. Gene was very active member of the North Apollo Church of God, where he was a past Elder, Sunday School Teacher, and usher. He was a self-taught musician who played Bass from the time he was in high school until his stint with the Joe Alese Combo. Gene also played at church for services. He was a member of the Vandergrift Musical Society (Local #476), and the American Federation of Musicians USA. He was a past Parks Twp. Supervisor, and founding board member of the Kiski Valley Water Authority. Gene was the projectionist at the “Lee” Drive in for many years. He enjoyed working with his Son and Daughter In Law at the Oakmont Candle Company. Gene will always be remembered as a gentleman who always put his family first. He was happiest when spending time with them. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Martha I. Lee Alese, three children; Lezlee Alese of Vandergrift, Suzanne Alese- Carraway and her husband Kevin of Carlisle, and Eugene Alese Jr. and his wife Stacy of East Oakmont, two grandsons; Dominic and Alec, a sister; Mary “Cookie” Alese of Vandergrift and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers; Nick, John, and Joe Alese. Family will receive friends on Sunday May 21, 2017 from 3:00P.M. until 7:00 P.M. in the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home Ltd. 1916 Moore Ave. North Apollo, Pa. Additional visitation will be held on Monday May 22 from 10:00 A.M. until time of services at 11:00 A.M. in the North Apollo Church of God. Services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Bob Shallenberger officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
