Dr. Dwight M. Strum

Dr. Dwight M. Strum, 81 of North Apollo passed away Friday February 10, 2017 at Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights. He was born March 8, 1935 in Emeigh, Pennsylvania (Cambria County) the son of the late Herbert and Frances Bilodeau Strum. Dwight was a United States Air Force Veteran having served from 1963 to 1965.  He received his undergraduate degree at Houghton College in New York and then went on to graduate from Pitt Medical School. He practiced Family Medicine, for over 50 years, first at the Russellton Miners Clinic in North Apollo from 1965 to 1988, and then in Vandergrift, in his own general practice from 1989 through 2014. He is survived by three daughters; Janice L. Brannon and her husband Ray of Saltsburg, Carol Ann Swank and her husband Brian of Spring Church, and Linda K. Leonard and her husband Owen of Sugar Hill, Georgia, a son David M, Strum and his wife Kelly of Columbia, South Carolina, fourteen grandchildren, and a brother Robert Strum and his wife Dorothy of Wilmington, Delaware. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn I. Hyde Strum in 2006, and a brother, Norman Strum. Family will receive friends on Monday February 13, 2017 from 3:00P.M. Until time of services at 7:00 P.M. in the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home Ltd. 1916 Moore Ave. North Apollo. Services will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. with Kelly Strum officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you perform an act of kindness for someone in need to honor Dwight’s memory.
