William “Bill” Richard Ryder 87 of Greensburg formerly of Longs, South Carolina passed away on Thursday October 22, 2020 at Excela Health, Westmoreland Hospital. He was born Friday May 19, 1933 in Wilkinsburg the son of the late Fred Austin and Mary Margaret Hnat Ryder. Before his retirement he was a Bus Driver for the Port Authority of Pittsburgh for over 25 years. Bill was United States Army Veteran having served during the Korean War. He was an energetic, hardworking, and fun- loving individual. He is survived by his three sons; William R. Ryder Jr. and his wife Judy of North Versailles, Gary E. Ryder and his wife Donna of Saltsburg and Jeff R. Ryder of Apollo, Nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, two sisters; Judy Lawyer and her Husband Karl of Penn Hills, and Virginia Arndt of Plum Borough, a brother Dan Ryder and his wife Karen of Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife in November of 2019, Marjorie Diane Hill Ryder, three sisters; Lois Wilson, Joan Remai, and Betty Stertz, and a brother, Fred Ryder. Private Family reflection will take place on Saturday October 23, 2020 followed by a graveside service at Edgewood Cemetery in Saltsburg. His son Reverend Jeff Ryder will officiate.
