William Leslie Shearer Sr., 72, of Saltsburg, Pa. passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at his home. He was born on Friday, October 19, 1951, in Moween, Pa., the son of the late Elmer E. and Virginia G. Hockenberry Shearer. He was an avid hunter, liked to fish, enjoyed camping at Kelly’s Station, NASCAR racing (his favorite driver was Tony Stewart #20 then #14) and was a devoted and loving man to his family. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Roxann George Shearer of Moween, his children, Bonnie M. Hunt and her husband, Michael of Fairmont, WV, Tracy Lynn Bertelle of Avonmore, Billie Jo Wilds and her husband, Jason of Saltsburg, Theresa Lee Wing of Saltsburg and Dawn M. Taylor and her husband, Tom of Zelienople, 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren with 2 great grandchildren on the way, his brothers, Stanley Shearer and his wife, Pam of Blacklick, Elmer Shearer of Nowrytown and Daniel Shearer and his wife, Jodie of Nowrytown, his daughter in law, Shelly Malnofsky of Meyersdale and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Willaim Leslie Shearer Jr., his sisters, Virginia Morton and Kathy Hancock, his brothers, Thomas Shearer and Edward Livengood and his sons-in-law, John Gerlesky, Keith Wing and Ken Bertelle Sr. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, from Noon until time of services at 4:00 PM at Corridoni Funeral Services, Inc., 400 Indiana Ave., Avonmore, Pa. Interment will be held at Ridge View Cemetery.
