William Leroy Sackett

William Leroy Sackett, 72, of New Kensington, Pa., passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022 at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa. He was born on Sunday, February 6, 1949 in Tarentum, Pa., the son of the late Phillip M. and Marcella Brasert Sackett. He was a United States Army Veteran who served numerous tours in the Vietnam War. He retired from the military as a Sargent First Class. He later retired from the Allegheny Twp. Fire/Police Dept. and as a State Constable. He was a member of the Allegheny Twp.  VFW. He enjoyed spending time at Around Town Tires with his friends and riding his motorcycles (Indian and Honda Goldwing). He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Elsie L. Shearer Sackett, his children; William T. Sackett and his wife, Amy, of Colorado Springs, Co., Brian S. Sackett and his wife, Erinne, of New Kensington, Pa. and Amanda B. Sackett-Fernandez and her husband, Michael, of Los Angeles, Ca., 6 grandchildren, Isabella, Matthew, Ava, Hannah, Mia and Olivia, his brother, Ronnie Sacket of Wisconsin and his sister, Sharon Sackett of New Mexico. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Phillip Sackett. Family will receive friends at the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home LTD, 1916 Moore Ave., North Apollo, Pa. on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 from 3:00 PM until time of services at 7:00 PM with Reverend Terry Jones officiating. Interment is private.
