Virginia Lee (Sanford) Womeldorf

Virginia Lee Sanford Womeldorf, 83,of Vandergrift, Pa., passed away on  Friday, February 26, 2021 at West Haven Manor in Apollo, Pa.  She was born on Saturday, April 10, 1937 in Madison, Pa., the daughter of the late Charles A. and Edna M. Anthony Sanford. Before her retirement, she worked for Dobi Catering and Food Services. She was a graduate of Leechburg High School. She enjoyed ceramics, bingo, playing cards, bus trip, gardening and sitting on her porch. She especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. Virginia is survived by her children, Janet Womeldorf of Vandergrift, George Womeldorf and his wife, Janie, of Phoenix, AZ and Sherri (Jim Pater) of Vandergrift, her grandchildren, Michael Leonard and his wife, Shannon, of Apollo, Sean Leonard of New Kensington and Joe Leonard of Vandergrift, her great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Madison and Dylan, a sister, Shirley “Babe” Minich of Gilpin Twp., and her brother, Charles Sanford of Kepple Hill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Milton C. Womeldorf and her sisters, Irene Smith, Betty Borello, Helen Shute, Sara Curcio and Evelyn Hamilton. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 from 11:00 AM until time of services at 1:00 PM in the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home LTD, 1916 Moore Ave., North Apollo, Pa. Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM with Jeannine Sanford, officiating. Private interment will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell, Pa. Due to Covid-19 concerns and concerns for our families, MASKS ARE MANDATORY AND SOCIAL DISTANCING GUIDELINES MUST BE FOLLOWED.
