Shirley Alyn Garland Black, 75, of Indiana, Pa., passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at IRMC in Indiana, Pa with her daughters by her side. She was born on Wednesday, June 27, 1945 in Greensburg, Pa., the daughter of the late Louis and Agnes Mae (Woomer) Garland.
Before her retirement, she worked for Verizon in sales. She was a Born Again Christian who loved reading and discussing the bible.
Her extra curricular activities included playing solitaire, watching action and comedy movies and reading romance novels. She loved spending time with her cats and her family especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Paula Love and husband, Rick, of Clarksburg and Shelley Curry and Fiance Shawn Collins of Loyalhanna Twp., her grandchildren, Alissa Nelson and husband, Derek, of Seven Hills, OH., Douglas Bender of Las Vegas, NV., Kelsie Bender of Saltsburg, Kaylie Bender of Saltsburg, Kleo Curry of Saltsburg, Christopher Collins of Saltsburg and her sister, Janet Bender and husband, Jack, of Greensburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Harriet Lasker. All funeral arrangements were private. Interment will be held at Ridgeview Cemetery in Elders Ridge, Pa.
