Rosalie (Crytzer) Shaffer

Rosalie (Crytzer) Shaffer, 81, of Bethel Township, passed into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, while in ACMH, with loving members of her family present. She was born on Sunday, August 10, 1941, on Troy Hill, Kittanning, Pa. the daughter of the late Homer D.Crytzer Sr. and Virginia Dell (Laird) Crytzer. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ford City where she enjoyed fellowship, making ham and bean soup and cookies for church fundraisers. Rosalie did the bookkeeping for her husband, Fred, who owned and operated a truck throughout most of their 63 year marriage. She also managed and cooked for the Kozy Korner Restaurant they owned for several years as well as The Feed Bin and later Freddy’s Diner. She loved to cook for her family, especially during gatherings with her children, grandchildren and anyone else who wanted to be a part of them. Rosalie and Fred hosted many large cookouts and they enjoyed camping with family and friends, even traveling to several other states.  She was always busy whether it was doing something for the family she loved, church activities or setting up yard sales. She loved the Lord and she enjoyed people. Rosalie is survived  by her husband; Frederick E. Shaffer, her daughter; Debra L Peppler and her husband, Douglas J. of Parks Township, her sons; Robert E Shaffer and his wife, Amy R. (Clark) of Bethel Township and David A Shaffer Sr. of Bethel Township, eight grandchildren and their spouses, 18 great grandchildren, two aunts; Joyce (Alfred) Martin and Letty Ann (William) Ashe, three brothers; Homer D. Crytzer Jr. and his wife, Sue Ann, Ronald E. Crytzer and his wife, Joanne and Jonny A. Crytzer and his wife, Nellie, sister-in-law, Linda (Harry) Crytzer,  a number of loved nieces, nephews  and cousins and buddy and protector, dog Deuce. In addition to her parents, Rosalie was preceded in death by her brother; Harry A. (Bub) Crytzer. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Ford City, 2230 Center Avenue, Ford City, Pa. 16226. Pastor Tim Kutch will officiate.
