Rosaire Therese (Recktenwald) Newhouse

Rosaire T. Recktenwald Newhouse, 92, formerly of Saltsburg, passed away on March 2, 2025, at St. Anne Home, Greensburg PA. She was born on Tuesday, August 16, 1932, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Hortanse M. Vourron and Cornelius F. Recktenwald. She and her, husband, Herman M. Newhouse, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last week.

Rosaire raised her children in Greensburg. She and her husband moved to Florida in later years, and then to Saltsburg, PA before residing at St. Anne Home. She was employed at the City of Greensburg Assessors Office at Greensburg City Hall, worked as a caregiver, and in several retail shops in Florida. She enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening and anything that involved community with family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Herman M. Newhouse, of Saltsburg PA, her sister Lucille Leckey, her three children, Sandra Perri (Ralph), Marcia Acita (Randy Clum) and Thomas Acita (Cheri), as well as nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. At Rosaire’s request, parting prayers are private and will be officiated by Father Salvatore Lamendola.
