Robert Guy Miller Sr., 87, of Avonmore, Pa. (Bell Twp) passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Quality Life Services in Apollo, Pa. He was born on Saturday, June 12, 1937, in Robinson, Pa., the son of the late Thomas and Edith L. Smith Miller. He was a United States Air Force veteran in Post War Korea. After serving in the Military, Robert attended the National School of Meat Cutting in Toledo, Ohio. Before his retirement, he was a butcher at the Food Gallery in Fox Chapel, Pa. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and sling slots. He made his own knives, triggers for archery hunting and making his own fishing lures. He loved polkas and playing the accordion. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Shirley Ann Bowman Miller, his children; Shirley Jean Miller Noonan and her husband, Steven of Bell Twp., Robert Guy Miller Jr (Laura) of Apollo and Pamela Renee Polahar and her husband, Richard of Saltsburg, 6 grandchildren, Crystel Reichart and husband, Andre of Germany, Heidi Bell of Tinsmill, Dacie Noonan of Tinsmill, Amber Miller ( Kristin) of Apollo, Eric Polahar of Saltsburg, Tim Polahar of Indiana . In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Miller and his sisters, Ethel Tom and Nellie Dunmire. Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held at Community Church of Pine Run, 190 Pine Run Church Rd., Apollo, Pa. 15613 on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at 3:00 PM, Pastor Joshua Strunk will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson Foundation of Western Pa., 850 Cranberry Woods Dr, Room 2222, Cranberry Twp., Pa. 16066.
