Richard Leroy Walters

Richard Leroy Walters, 70, of Chesapeake, Va., passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022 at his home in Virginia. He was born on Thursday, September 6, 1951 in Tarentum, Pa. the son of Herbert L. Walters and the late Elizabeth VanTassel Walters.  He was a 1969 graduate of Kiski Area High School. Richard was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed woodworking and loved to eat out. He is survived by his sons; Clark Walters and his wife, Tammy, of Chesapeake, Va. and Carey Walters and his wife, Bethany, of Delft, Netherlands, his grandchildren; Zachary Walters and Heidi Walters,  his father; Herbert L. Walters of Avonmore and his sister, Jeanne Walters of Liberty Boro, Pa. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth VanTassel Walters and his wife, Christine Race Walters. Family will receive friends on Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 11:00 AM until time of services at 1:00 PM with Pastor Lee Rupert, officiating at the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home LTD, 400 Indiana Ave., Avonmore, Pa. Interment will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell, Pa.
