Richard Tamski, Sr, 80, of Kiski Township, died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, April 16, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Born Monday, April 27, 1942, in Forest City, the son of the late George and Helen (Seben) Tamski. He was employed by R&P Coal Company and worked as a bus driver and personal care aid both privately and in various nursing homes. He was a member of Saint James Roman Catholic Church, Apollo; Slovak Clubs of North and East Vandergrift, American Legion Post 114; PNA, Italian and Moose Clubs of Avonmore, Lithuanian Club and Polish Clubs of East Vandergrift and Avonmore, and the Hutch and Bunner Flintlockers Gun Club. He was a volunteer at the Westmoreland County Food Bank and was always ready to help someone in need. He enjoyed hunting, bowling, playing cards, traveling, and was an avid golfer. He most loved spending time with his family; his favorite holiday was Christmas (Eve), and he spent many of his later years playing Santa for family, friends, neighbors and various organizations. Known for his generous heart and magnificent sense of humor, he was loved by all who met him! He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Diana (Hall) Tamski, daughter Charlene (Leroy) Clayborne of Florida, son Richard, Jr., (Sue) of Indiana, son Michael (Betsy) of West Virginia, and Sherry Tamski of Kiski Township; brother, James Tamski (Betty) of Apollo; sisters, Betty Damico and Marsha Bailey of Florida, Barbara Stover of Allegheny Twp; and 5 grandsons, D.J. (Kirsty) of Erie, David (Nicole) of Indiana, Matthew and Jonathan of Florida, and Cole of Bridgeville; great-granddaughter, Harper, and great-grandsons, Bryce and Gage; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces nephews and extended family. He also leaves behind his best friend Tony Mascaro and favorite golf partner Jim (Ducky) Gemza. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, ThomasTamski, Georgine Pesci, Roberta Johnson, George Boyd Tamski, Jr., and Elaine Rainelli. Family will receive friends on Thursday, April 20, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home LTD, 1916 Moore Ave., North Apollo, PA 15673. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Saint James Roman Catholic Church, 109 Owens View Ave., Apollo, Pa. 15613 with Father Vincent Zidek as celebrant. Interment will be held at Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont, Pa. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local food bank in Richard's memory.
