Richard Leslie “Dick” Hoover, 76, of Apollo passed away on Saturday April 17, 2021 at Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Thursday, May 18, 1944 in Blairsville, Pa. the son of the late Ward and Mary Helen Maurey Hoover. Before his retirement, he was employed for United States Steel in the research department and the County of Westmoreland as a clerk at the Court House. Dick was a United States Airforce Veteran having served during the Vietnam War. He was an avid reader, loved to watch documentaries on TV, and was a history buff especially on the WWII and Civil War eras. He is survived by his sister, Shirley J. Stephenson of Waynesboro, Pa. and his twin brother, Kenneth Hoover and his wife, Karen, of Vandergrift, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jane Maskery. Family will receive friends on Monday April 19, 2021 from 4:00 P.M. until time of services at 6:30 P.M. in the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home Ltd. 1916 Moore Ave. North Apollo Pa. Services will be held at 6:30 P.M. in the funeral home with Pastor Lee Rupert officiating. Interment will be held in Curwensville Cemetery in Clearfield County.
