Rachel (Angelini) Garzone

Rachel Angelini Garzone, 91, of Avonmore, Pa. passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023, at William Penn Care Center in Jeannette, PA. She was born on Sunday, December 27, 1931, in Nowrytown, PA, the daughter of the late Nicola and Adelina Scarafone Angelini. She was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church where she sang in the choir and a member of the Fannie Sellins Lodge in Avonmore. Rachel was a homemaker in addition to working for her nephew at Pizza Larry’s in Saltsburg, cooking and preparing foods and as a nurse’s aid at West Haven nursing home in Apollo. She was known as a warm, caring and generous person, loved by all. She is survived by her children, Anthony N Garzone and his wife, Frances of Albuquerque, NM and Pamela D Garzone and her husband, David Perkins, of San Carlos, CA, 3 grandchildren, Nicole Phillips, Matthew Garzone and Adam Garzone, 4 great grandchildren (Gavin, Beau and Shea Phillips and Nicholis Garzone) and her sisters, Sophie Hazlett of Blue Eye, Missouri and Jennie Markitell of Avonmore and many nephews and nieces. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Nicholas Garzone (2005) and her brother, John Angelini (2014). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday November 10, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, 505 Cambria Ave., Avonmore, Pa. 15618. Father John Pavlic will be celebrant. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery in Avonmore. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Rachel's memory to the Food Bank at St. Ambrose Church.
