Paul Alsippi Obituary

Paul W. Alsippi of Avonmore, PA, passed peacefully on February 18, 2021, after a courageous battle with dementia. Born October 28, 1935, in Avonmore to Joseph Paul Alsippi and Mary Louise Zerbini Alsippi, Paul was preceded in death by his wife Charlotte in January 2021, daughter Angela in 2018, brother Richard in 2005, mother Mary in 2005, father Joseph in 1993, and brother Eugene 1932. He is survived by daughter Gina M. Alsippi Dionne, son Paul M. Alsippi and wife Edna White of Whitefish, MT, grandson John C. Puskar, sister-in-law Andrea Alsippi, brother Joseph Alsippi and wife Agnes Alsippi, sister Mary Jean Alsippi Gomberg and husband Steve Gomberg of West Palm Beach, FL, and numerous nieces and nephews. An Eagle Scout in the BSA, Paul was a member of the Order of The Arrow and a 1953 Graduate of Bell Avon High School in Salina, PA. He served in the US Army from 1956-58 in the 3rd Armored Division stationed in Germany. He was employed by Akers National Roll as a crane operator and chainman for 35 years as a member of Local AFL-CIO 1138, retiring in 1997.Paul married the love of his life, Charlotte Conto Alsippi, on November 11, 1961, and thrived in a close-knit community. His home was always open to the children of Avonmore and had many of the Alsippi children’s friends frequenting his house for social gatherings, dinners, sleepovers, and generally a good time. Paul was a loving husband, devoted father, uncle, cousin, brother, and a wonderful friend to many. He was a caring contributor to the community as a member, coach, and past President of Bell Avon Little League; member and past president of Avonmore Lions Club; member of Avonmore town council in the 1980s, Nowrytown Sportsmen’s Club, VFW Post 7901, Moose Lodge 37, Latrobe Eagles 1188, PNA 1234, and member and past council of Hebron Lutheran Church in Avonmore. Paul was an avid golfer and scored his hole-in-one on September 17, 1991, at Country Meadows Golf Course in Saltsburg, PA. He found peace and comfort in the outdoors, on numerous golf courses, being in the mountains of Montana, playing Cinch and Poker with friends, and anywhere with family. In his retirement, Paul took great pleasure in waking early for a walk and coffee time with friends new or old. His outgoing personality and knack for conversation quickly made friends of strangers and led him to spend many mornings “working” at Calandrella’s.
