Norma May Reed

Norma May Swartz Reed 85, of Slickville passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born Tuesday, May 24, 1938, in Brenizer, PA, the daughter of the late Walter Albert and Mary Ellen Johns Swartz.  Before her retirement, she was employed by Twin Valley Personal Care Home in Delmont as a cook.  She was a 1957 graduate of Saltsburg Middle High School.  She enjoyed bingo, her trips to the casino and was happiest spending time with her family.  She is survived by her daughter, Jodie Paouncic and her husband, Robert, of Slickville, 3 grandchildren, R.J. Paouncic (Meghan) of Slickville, Jamie Paouncic of Slickville, Amber Joyce and her husband, Stan, of Oklahoma, two great grandchildren, Sadie and Ashton, her sister, Linda Swartz of Delmont, and her brother, Donnie Swartz and his wife, Denise, of Saltsburg, her sister-in-laws, Doreen Johns of Saltsburg and JoAnne Swartz of Avonmore.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Reed, Jr, in 1982, her son Albert James Reed and her grandson, Derrick James Reed and her two brothers, Robert Johns and Ralph “Casey” Swartz and her sister, Judy Maruca.  At the family’s request, all services are private.  Interment will be held at Edgewood Cemetery, Saltsburg, PA.
