Michael Rocco, 86, of West Lebanon formerly of Saltsburg passed away Saturday, August 9, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mike was born Thursday, August 18, 1938, in Sutersville, Pa the son of the late James Joseph and Josephine Susan Shimelonis Rocco. He was a medic in the United States Army during the Viet Nam War. He was a postal clerk/supervisor for the United States Postal Service in the Northside of Pittsburgh for over 30 years. Mike loved all sports including all of the Pittsburgh teams. He never missed the Saltsburg Trojan Football games. Mike loved working sudoku puzzles. He is a life member of the Saltsburg VFD, station #131, and the American Legion, Post #57 in Saltsburg. He was an avid fisherman. Mike especially enjoyed following his grandchildren in all of their activities. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Elizabeth Kay “Cookie” Brown Rocco, 3 daughters, Michelena Elizabeth Rocco of Swissvale, Tiffany Patricia Rocco of Swissvale and Angela Dawn Simpson, and her husband, Jim, of Shelocta, 2 grandchildren, Zachary Simpson and his wife, Emma, of Indiana and Nathan Simpson of Shelocta. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Felix, Joe and Jim Rocco, 3 sisters, Betty Wilson, Louise Rush and Theresa Battistelli. Family will receive friends on Monday, August 11, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Corridoni Funeral Services, Inc., 400 Indiana Avenue, Avonmore, PA. A mass of Christian Burial will be held, Tuesday, 10:00 AM in the St. Matthews Church in Saltsburg with Father Roselo Melloria officiating. Interment will follow at St. Matthews Roman Catholic Church Cemetery in Saltsburg.
