Merle Henry Johnson

Merle Henry Johnson, 93, of Conemaugh Township, Pa. went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Latrobe Hospital in Latrobe, PA. He was born on Saturday, May 23, 1931, in Liberty Township, Ohio. He retired from a lifetime of working in sales. He studied Astronomy and enjoyed watching the stars at night. He faithfully attended and supported Saltsburg Sporting events. He was a lifelong fan of the Cincinnati Reds and never missed a game. He was a songwriter/singer and formed a family band which was his pride and joy. He like listening to Country and Gospel Music, but the most important thing to him was his family. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Betty Jane Negley Johnson of Conemaugh Township, his children, DiAnna (Johnson) Bucco and her husband, Donnie of Saltsburg, David M. Johnson and his wife, Lori of Saltsburg, Cathy Jane (Johnson) Bostaph of Bethany Beach, De. and James Johnson and his wife, Linda (Gottshall) of Saltsburg, 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. All funeral services are private.
