Marzella Louise (Reese) Shaffer

Marzella Louise Reese Shaffer, 93, of Pittsburgh, Pa. (Penn Hills) , passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at her home. She was born on Monday, June 13, 1932 in Fairmont, WV. the daughter of the late Avril K. and Ivy Lambert Reese. She loved to plant flowers, gardening, and doing crossword puzzles. She was an excellent cook and baker who owned Reese’s Restaurant that closed in 1971. Marzella was loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Ira Walter Shaffer, her children, Jack Shaffer (Ardale Stone) of Penn Hills and Ira Shaffer Jr. and his wife, Linda of Washington Twp. 4 grandchildren, Nick Camerota and wife, Shannon Buncher , Dana Knox and her husband, Alvin, Jonathan Shaffer, Noella Shaffer, 2 great grandchildren, Cole and Chase Camerota, her sisters, Hazel Newton of East Vandergrift, Danneth Colder of Vandergrift, Aretta Curran of Vandergrift, Dorothy  “Dot” Barr of Kittanning, Donna Ross of Colorado and Arlene “Kay” Burke and her husband Thomas of West Leechburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Edward Shaffer and Juanita Shaffer and her brothers, Kenneth, Jim and Paul Reese. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Fairview Cemetery, Spring Church, Pa. with Pastor Scott Fairman, officiating.
