Mary Louise Ghiardi

Mary Louise Orvosh Ghiardi, 94, of Nowrytown (Conemaugh Twp) passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023, at Rose Haven Nursing Home in Indiana, PA.  She was born Friday, February 15, 1929, in Moween, (Loyalhanna Twp), the daughter of the late Andrew and Helen Braznick Orvosh.  Before her retirement, she was employed by Steiner’s Drapery in Saltsburg, PA.  She enjoyed gardening, music, especially polkas and waltzes, loved bingo and was a master puzzler.  She is survived by her children, Domenic A. Ghiardi and his wife, Margie, of Avonmore, Katherine L. Phillips and her husband, Tom Lace, of New Alexandria, PA, four grandchildren; Scott, Angela and her husband, Jan, John and his wife, Alyssa, and Paul, two great grandchildren, Ryan and Cash and three sisters, Margaret Davis of Walden, New York, Josephine Grimm of Apollo, and Dorothy Wilden and her husband, Gus, of Marion Center.  She is also survived by her loving companion, her dog, sweetie.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Pete Ghiardi, six brothers, John, Andrew, Michael “Spike”, Robert, Edward and William “Butch”, and her sister, Helen Cup.  Family will receive friends on Monday, October 2, 2023, from 4:00 PM until time of services at 8:00 PM at Corridoni Funeral Services, Inc., 400 Indiana Avenue, Avonmore, PA.   Services will be held at 8:00 PM in the funeral home with Reverend Keith McCutcheon officiating, interment will follow in Edgewood Cemetery in Saltsburg, PA.  In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions be made in Mary’s name to the Saltsburg Senior Center, 212 Point Street, Saltsburg, PA  15681, Rose Haven Activities Department, C/O Rose Haven Personal Care Home, 132 Haven Drive, Indiana, PA 15701.
