Mary Louise (Lobaugh) Curry

Mary Louise Lobaugh Curry, 93, of Glenshaw, Pa. formerly of Apollo and Emlenton passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at The Haven at North Hills Senior Residence, Pittsburgh, Pa.  She was born on Tuesday, September 2, 1930, in Grove City, Pa., the daughter of the late Reynolds K. and Twila Seybert Lobaugh. Before her retirement, she worked as a dental hygienist. Mary Lou was a member of the North Apollo Church of God, where she was very active in her passion, with the quilting group. She enjoyed playing cards and socializing. As a teenager, she lived out every child’s dream working in father’s ice cream factory. She attended the University of Pennsylvania and had the distinction of being probably the only student dropped off by her father in his plane with only a compass to guide them. It has been said with Mary Lou she lived such an extraordinary life for an ordinary woman. It can be said now she is extremely happy with her life with Jesus. She is survived by 5 children, Rose Mary Solkovy and her husband Charlie of Freedom, Elizabeth A. Schoendorf and her husband, Brian of Glenshaw, Patricia Grubbs and her husband, John of Gibsonia, Furman John Curry and his wife, Carol Ann of Blairsville and Carol Yarros of Glenshaw, 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Furman Clare Curry Jr. and 2 sisters, Marylynn Hopkins and Barbara Sardi. A Memorial Service will be conducted on Friday, December 8, 2023 at 2:00 PM at the North Apollo Church of God  with Pastor Robert Shallenberger and Pastor Lee Rupert, officiating, Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Spring Church, Pa.
