Leonard Ross Stillson

Leonard Ross Stillson, 81, of Vandergrift, Pa. passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Quality Life Services in Apollo, Pa. He was born Wednesday, January 5, 1944, in Kittanning, Pa., the son of the late Ross and Jessie Rizzo Stillson. He was a United State Navy veteran serving 4 years at Guantanamo  Bay.  After graduating from New Kensington High School in 1961, he attended Youngstown State University and Tampa University. Before his retirement, he worked for Norfolk & Southern Railroad as a supervisor for over 28 years. Leonard was a member of the Grace Assembly of God in Apollo where he enjoyed being a member of the men’s group with Reverend John Jackson. He enjoyed playing cards, basketball, doing crossword puzzles, golf and was a caddy at the Oakmont Golf Course.  He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia R. Vassar Stillson of Vandergrift, his children, Michael S. Stillson of North Carolina and Jennifer J. Stillson of Vandergrift, his grandchildren, Ariel N. and Jasmine C. Stillson of North Carolina, his sisters, Brenda J. DeTroeyer  of  Clearwater, Florida, Cynthia Spindell and her husband, Steve of Rockville, MD, Cheryl M. Harold and her husband, Wayne of Waynesboro, Pa and his brother, Dennis F. Stillson and his wife, Lynne of Holiday, Florida. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Leonard B. Stillson (little Lenny). Family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 10:00 AM until time of services at Noon at Corridoni Funeral Services, Inc., 1916 Moore Ave., North Apollo, Pa. Funeral Services will be held at Noon in the funeral home with Reverend John Jackson III, officiating. Internment is private.
