Karl Douglas Shipley

Karl Douglas Shipley, 78, of Spring Church, Pa., passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021 at UPMC Altoona in Altoona, Pa. He was born on Saturday, May 23, 1942 I Jefferson City, Missouri, the son of the late Eugene Dion and Ruth Joyce McCutcheon Shipley. Before his retirement, he was a janitor for the Franklin Regional School District. He loved gardening, flowers, nature and being in the outdoors. He especially loved the time he spent with his grandchildren. He is survived by his children, Jason Shipley of Rochester, Pa.,  Jennifer Rudolph of Spring Church, Pa., Amanda Shipley of China, Jerome Shipley and his wife, Emily, of Southport, Fl., Kathleen Valerio and her husband, William, of Glenolden, Pa. and Jesse Shipley of Indiana, 7 grandchildren, Brianna and Kyle Rudolph, Emira, Logan, Mason and Deklan Shipley and Lowen Shipley-Smith, his brothers, Timothy Shipley of Missouri and Jerome Shipley and his wife, Janet, of Blairsville, Ga. and his sister, Judy Zadai and her husband, Ray, of Blairsville, Ga. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Joyce Pizzotti and his brothers, Eugene, Ralph and Jeffrey Shipley.  All funeral arrangements were private.
