Karen Emanuel

Karen Emanuel, age 77, a long-time resident of Greensburg, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 20, 2024.

A public viewing will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Corridoni Funeral Services, Inc., 400 Indiana Avenue, Avonmore, PA. On Saturday, March 30, 2024, at 11:00 AM, an interment service will be held at Edgewood Cemetery in Saltsburg, PA.  A celebration of her life will be held after the interment service.

Karen was born in Saltsburg, Pennsylvania on October 14, 1946, to the late Harry and Elizabeth McDivitt Emanuel.  Karen spent her early childhood in Saltsburg and later moved to North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, where she graduated from high school.  She raised her three children in Manor, Pennsylvania.  She then moved closer to Pittsburgh and became an active member of her community and in her later years, she moved to Greensburg to be near family.

Throughout her professional life, Karen was known for her hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others.  She instilled this exceptional work ethic into her children.  She worked at Bidwell Training School, Carnegie Mellon University, IBM, PTI and many other educational organizations.

Karen was a mother, grandmother and a great grandmother who loved working in her yard, painting, baking and decorating.  She made every holiday special and sent hand written cards to those she loved.  Karen was an active member of her community, volunteering at her church.  She touched so many lives and will be deeply missed.

Her memory will forever be cherished by her children, Jennifer Tauriac (Samuel), Jason Dunkelberger (Lisa) and Joshua Dunkelberger (Kelsey); grandchildren, Justin, Devonte, Josie, Jordan, Nina, Isabel, Emily, Conner, Olivia, Eli, Belle and Mary; great grandchildren, Kazuya and Leo; nieces and great nieces, Debbie, Nanette, Joy, Angie, and Callie; nephews and great nephews, Harry, Jeremee, Shane and Tyler.  And, her beloved sister, Sandra Emanuel Rosenberger, of Chesapeake, Virginia.  She also loved her cousins, Daniel McGregor, Sybil Pistininzi, David McDivitt, Kelly Corridoni, Leeann O’Connor and Scott Smith.
