John “Yunko” Joseph Kuzmin, 92, of Slickville, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh. He was born on October 11, 1933 in Slickville to George and Mary (Hordi) Kuzmin. John was a United States Air Force veteran who served in the Air Police. After serving, John worked for nearly 60 years as an auto body technician, primarily at his garage, Kuzmin’s Body Shop.

John was a very active member of the Slickville Presbyterian Church where he was an Elder. At the church, his responsibilities included delivering food to the food bank and maintaining the grounds. An outdoorsman and hard worker, John enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, chopping firewood, and doing yardwork. John loved the game of baseball and played throughout his whole life. He started in his childhood and played all the way through senior league softball in his 80s, even earning an invitation to play in the Senior World Series in Chattanooga, TN. He was also a lifelong fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates. His family knew him as the best husband, dad, and pap.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Janice Elaine (Aaron) Kuzmin; his daughter, Sherry Ann Maruca and her husband Russel; and his grandsons, Riley and Jack, whom he cherished. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Andy, George, Joe, and Mike; and sisters, Ann, Kay, Margaret, and Mary. All funeral arrangements are private.
