John "Johnny" Christopher Puskar, born on Sunday, December 4, 1988, in Avonmore, Pennsylvania, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024, after a courageous struggle with opioid addiction and depression. He was a beloved son, nephew, and friend, and is remembered for his gentle spirit and love for family and friends, even amidst his battle. Johnny is survived by his father, John S. Puskar and Anita J. Puskar, sisters, Taylor L. Puskar and Hayley M. Puskar, brother, Anthony J. Puskar of Washington, PA; aunt, Gina Alsippi Dionne of Avonmore, PA; uncle, Paul Alsippi, and aunt, Edna White of Whitefish, MT; and great uncle, Bob Conto, and great aunt, Josie Bernabei of Blairsville, PA. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Angela Alsippi Ramaley, and his grandparents, Paul and Charlotte Alsippi. Johnny is also reunited in spirit with his cherished Boxer dog, Dozer, who was his faithful companion. Growing up, Johnny's childhood was filled with adventure and passion. He found joy in riding BMX bikes at Northmoreland Park, and spent countless hours riding and racing motocross and pit bikes, proudly sporting the number 124. His love for the outdoors also drew him to deer hunting, an activity he cherished while spending meaningful time with his Uncle Bob. Despite the challenges he faced in his adult years, Johnny's compassionate heart shone through. He dedicated himself to caring for and providing companionship to his aging grandparents, demonstrating a selflessness that deeply impacted those around him. Johnny will be missed by all who knew him. His life serves as a poignant reminder of the complexities of mental health and addiction, emphasizing the need for compassion, understanding, and support in these battles. A Memorial Service will be held at Corridoni Funeral Services, Inc., 400 Indiana Ave., Avonmore, Pa. on Friday, November 1, 2024 at 6:30 PM with Pastor Lee Rupert, officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Johnny’s memory to a local addiction recovery program, supporting the fight against this devastating epidemic.
