Joan Elaine Morgan Davison, age 96, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 25, 2025. Born in Avonmore, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday, September 4, 1929, she was the daughter of Ruth and Clyde Morgan. Joan was the beloved sister of Laura Lee Morgan and Dennis Morgan, and the late Bob, Conrad, Diane, and Dale Morgan. She was a proud graduate of Bell-Avon High School.
In 1950, Joan married the love of her life, the late Furl Davison. Together, they built their dream home and raised their family in Avonmore--the same home where she passed away, surrounded by her large and loving family. Joan is survived by her son Bob Davison (wife Lisa) and John Davison (wife Barbara); her grandson Harley Davison (partner Amy Jo Wiester) and their children Juneau and Payton; her granddaughter Sunny Lee Davison; her grandson Cody Davison and his sons Blayke and Grant; and her granddaughter Janet Stout (husband Dave Stout) and their children Gracie, Tyler, Minnie, Johnny and Layla and many nieces and nephews.
Joan loved her family fiercely, and they were always her top priority. She worked as a secretary at National Roll in Avonmore, where she first met Furl, and later kept the books for his cabinet business. She delighted in making gifts for those she loved-knitting, cross-stitching, baking and cooking with a generous spirit. Joan cherished family camping trips, knowing the value of shared experiences and the memories they created. She loved telling stories about her travels across the country with Furl on their motorcycles and treasured hosting Christmas Eve gatherings, preparing her home and her table so everyone could come together. A giver at heart, Joan taught by example that what she had was meant to be shared. She was the person everyone turned to for advice--listening deeply, loving fully and giving her heart and soul to everyone she met.
Joan loved her hometown of Avonmore, where she was born, raised, and built her life. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Monarch Hospice for their care and compassion.
At Joan’s request, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Joan’s memory to Monarch Hospice, 2837 Leechburg Rd., New Kensington, Pa. 15068.
