Jennie (nee Redescaldi) Townsend

Jennie Townsend (nee Redescaldi) age 92 of Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024, in West Bend, WI.

Jennie was born on April 21, 1932, in Pennsylvania, to her parents, Fred and Matilda (nee Anelli) Redescaldi. She was united in marriage to Ray “Andy” Townsend on July 7, 1951, in Avonmore, PA.

Jennie enjoyed gardening, cake decorating, and reading.  She enjoyed spending time with her family.  She was active in the Ladies Auxiliary and other local organizations for several years.  She will be remembered for her loving, caring spirit, fashion sense, and her sense of humor.

Jennie is survived by her children, Lynn (Douglas) Baldwin, Brad (Ann) Townsend; grandchildren, Sean (Abbie) Baldwin, Erin Baldwin, Forest and Ryland Townsend; and sister, Mary (Dr. Robert) Yockey.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Ray “Andy” Townsend; parents, Fred and Matilda Redescaldi; siblings, Selvio Anelli, Joseph Redescaldi, Josephine Pontoli, Minnie Dobrosky, Pauline Stephens, Lena DeSimone, and Gene Redescaldi.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation in Jennie’s memory.  All donations are greatly appreciated.

On Friday, November 8, 2024 Family will receive relatives and friends during the visitation at 3:00 p.m. with the funeral service directly following at 5:00 p.m.  Visitation and service will be held at Shimon Funeral Home at 824 Union St., Hartford, WI 53027.  

Interment will be  held on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, PA.
