James “Jimbo” Callipare Jr., 81, of Apollo, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024 at Quality Life Services in Sugarcreek, PA. He was born on Wednesday, August 26, 1942 at Allegheny Valley Hospital, the son of the late James Callipare and Jennie Cherre Callipare. James and his twin brother Anthony had to remain 3 more months due to being premature. Jim was a 1965 graduate of Washington Township High School. He was an usher at North Apollo Church of God where he was a member. Jim was a butcher all his life starting with his dad, Jim, and his Uncle Al at West Apollo Packing, Jim Naser Meats and his last employer was Naser’s Foods, working a total of 50 years as a butcher. Jim enjoyed spending his free time traveling to play Bingo at local fire halls and churches, playing the slot machines at the casino, bowling, playing cards and going to family gatherings. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by twin brother, Anthony S. “Tony” Callipare; and his sisters, Patricia J. Callipare and Mary Ann "Judy" (Callipare) Cieslinski.Jim is survived by his two children, James J. Callipare, III. of Ford City and Jennifer (Callipare) Redemer of Vandergrift; 5 grandchildren: Ashton (Lucas) Aland of Erie, Jaylen Callipare of Pittsburgh, Jordan Callipare of Ford City, Noah and Anna Redemer of Vandergrift and his brother; Michael Callipare and his wife, Lori of Las Vegas. Family will receive friends on Friday, February 2, 2024, at Corridoni Funeral Services, Inc.,1916 Moore Ave., North Apollo, Pa. from 11:00 AM until time of services at 1:00 PM in the funeral with Pastor Lee Rupert, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jim’s memory to the North Apollo Church of God, 507 20th St., North Apollo, Pa. 15673.
