James Ward Mock of Murrysville passed into eternity on Thursday, October 28, 2021. He was born in Jeannette, PA on Tuesday, October 15, 1929, a son of Legouri and Elizabeth Stark Mock. He is survived by wife of 58 years, Ardis Mathews Mock, a son Peter Mock and a daughter Alison Mock. Jim was a loving husband and father who took great joy in his family. He served in the US Army as a 1st Lieutenant during the Korean War in Japan and Korea. Following his military service, he attended Texas Western College earning a degree in Metallurgical Engineering. Upon graduating, he took a position with Westinghouse Electric where he spent his entire career, retiring at the age of 80. He attended Murrysville Community Church. Jim was a handyman extraordinaire and loved to hunt and fish. He traveled extensively throughout Europe and the US and especially enjoyed a 30th anniversary trip to Alaska with his wife. He is especially renowned for his so-called sense of humor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Betty Jean and Edwin Joyce. We greatly appreciated the love and care extended by Heartland Hospice, especially Robin, Jamie, Jessica and many others who cared and loved for Jim during these last 3 years. The family will be holding a Celebration of Life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritan's Purse - Operation Heal Our Patriots.
