Hazel Churchfield Hunter Kunkle, 91, of Indiana passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024, at St. Andrew’s Village, Indiana, PA. She was born Wednesday, May 25, 1932, in Wilmerding, PA. The daughter of the late Homer B and Anna C Rupp Churchfield. Before her retirement, she worked at the Homer City Gas Plant as a secretary. She loved her faith. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, wife and always put family first. She enjoyed flowers, especially the Christmas Cactus, that had been her mother’s. She is survived by two sons, Fred Hunter and his wife, Debbie, of Indiana, PA and Ron Hunter and his wife, Lorri, of Bluffton, South Carolina; two stepsons Lisle H Kunkle III, of Blairsville, PA and Richard Kunkle and his wife, Maria, of Pittsburgh. Seven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Frederick Richard Hunter, her grandson, Ian Hunter and her second husband, Lisle Henry Kunkle, Jr., 2 brothers, Donald and George “Sonny” Churchfield and two sisters, Ernestine McIntosh and Dorothy Pavlick. A memorial service will be held on May 24, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Graystone Presbyterian Church, 640 Church St., Indiana, Pa. with Pastor Joe Stroup, Officiating.
