Gerald Bowman

Gerald Bowman, 80, of Avonmore, Pa., passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on Tuesday, January 28, 1941 in Truxal, Pa, the son of the late Walter H. and Rose Marie Cantola Bowman. He was a graduate of Bell Avon High School in 1960. Before his retirement, he worked as a crane operator for over 38 years at National Roll in Avonmore, Pa. He was a United States Army Veteran. He loved sitting on his back porch watching the birds, socializing and his dog, Lexi. The time he spent with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren was his greatest joy. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda Kay Glacken Bowman, his children, Candace Crawford and her husband, Lee, of East Vandergrift and Gerald L. Bowman and his wife, Sheila, of Elderton, his grandchildren, Tiffany Baker and her husband, Jason, of Kepple Hill, Nicholas Crawford of East Vandergrift, Jacob Bowman of Ford Cliff, Hannah Bowman of Ford Cliff, Brandon and Tyler Ramer of Elderton, 3 great grandchildren, Caleigh, Sadie and Rory Baker, 2 brothers Robert Bowman and his wife, Kathy, of Avonmore,  Donald “Gig” Bowman and his wife, Katherine of Roanoke Rapids, NC, a brother in law, Leonard “Nugget” Veneziani of Avonmore and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Veneziani. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 18, 2021 from Noon until 2:00 PM at the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home LTD, 400 Indiana Ave., Avonmore, Pa. FAMILY WILL NOT BE PRESENT. Due to Covid-19 concerns and our concerns for the public, MASKS ARE MANDATORY AND SOCIAL DISTANCING GUIDELINES MUST BE FOLLOWED. Interment will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell, Pa. The family would like to thank AHN Hospice for all of their kindness, compassion and wonderful care during Jerry’s sickness.
