George Henry Hamilton, 86, of Shelocta, Pa. passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Indiana Regional Medical Center in Indiana, Pa. He was born on Sunday, August 27, 1939, in Parkwood, Pa., the son of the late Boyd H. and Dorothy B. Shirey Hamilton. He was a United States Army veteran who was stationed in Okinawa, Japan during the Vietnam War. While he was stationed in Okinawa, Japan, George had the reputation of being an exceptional pitcher and proudly held that position for the Army Rangers Baseball Team. He enjoyed playing golf, hunting and snowmobiling. In the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s, he was a very respected golf club repairman. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jessie Dale Mortimer Hamilton of Shelocta, his children, Joseph R. “Randy” Hamilton and his wife, Cindy of Marco Island, Fl., Kenneth B. Hamilton and his wife, Susie of Marco Island, Fl., Patricia E. Henry of Blairsville and Barbara Jo Hopper and her husband, Bryan of Pickerington, Oh., 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Jason Hamilton. At his request, all funeral arrangements are private.
