Edward Michael Mihilek

On March 24, 2023, Ed Mihilek, adored father, grandfather, brother, husband, brother in-law, son in-law, friend and life companion, passed away at he the age of 65 years young. Ed was born at Allegheny Valley Hospital, growing up in Avonmore, Pennsylvania, obtaining a degree in business management from Theil College. His passion of sports drove him to become the captain of the football team and led him to meet his wife of 33 years Lori Hamilton-Mihilek, who was a cheerleader. They married in 1987 and raised 4 sons; Nicholas, Christian, Alex and Max in Charlotte, North Carolina. Ed’s passion for sports was known by all. If he wasn’t representing his favorite team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, it was another Pittsburgh team. He passed his passion for sports onto his son, who played  multiple of sports. You could find Ed on football Sundays preparing for the Steelers game. Ed loved to listen to music any chance he got. You could find him on just about any afternoon blaring music from his garage. Ed was an avid runner throughout his life, running a minimum of two miles a day for most of his life and competing in multiple races throughout the country. His lawn maintenance was a force to not be reckoned with. Ed was known for always having his door open for all who needed some company. Ed welcomed all into his home (unless you were rooting against his team), not really, he accepted all who came. Ed was a very loving grandfather who adored his three granddaughters, Sophia 8, Kari 5, and Lily 1. He loved life and loved the people in it with every fiber of his being. Meeting his life companion Deborah Lemari afer the passing of his wife, Lori Hamilton-Mihilek was a saving grace in a difficult time. Ed leaves behind strong family values and an incredible ability to love his family and friends. His family vows to carry on these values throughout their lives. Ed leaves behind family members, Son; Nicholas Hamilton-Mihilek, daughter in-law; Christina, granddaughters, Sophia, Kari and Lily, Son; Alex Mihilek, daughter in-law Paulina Mihilek, son; Christian Mihilek, son; Max Mihilek, sister; Donna Stemplinski, brother in-law, Ed Stemplinski,his life companion and partner; Deborah Lamari, aunts, cousins and extended family in Charlotte, NC. Ed was preceded in death by his father; Cecil Mihilek, his mother; Ruth Eleanor Mihilek and wife; Lori Mihilek.
