Earl Frederick Hooks, 94 of Ford City, passed away on Sunday May 26, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Saturday March 1, 1930, in Manorville, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Charles Ephriam and Ida Mae Spencer Hooks. Before his retirement, he was employed by PPG in Ford City for over 35 years, as a crane operator and battery truck driver. His passion was farming, he loved to garden, and enjoyed camping. Along with his wife, he owned and operated the Kool Kone in Shady Plain for over 20 years. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Alene Elizabeth Willyard Hooks, four sons: Roger Hooks and his wife Pat of Toledo, Ohio, Dale Hooks and his wife Lillian of Ford City, David Hooks and Mike Kelly of Churchill, and Eric Hooks of Ford City, five grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren, and his brother Floyd Hooks and his wife Pat of Ford City. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Elmer and Glenn Hooks and two sisters, Joanne Neville and a sister in infancy. A Memorial Service will be conducted at a later date.
