Dylan Tarbi Obituary

Dylan David Tarbi, age 13 years old died on May 24, 2024 after he was struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle in Buffalo Township, PA.  He was born on September 15, 2010 in Pittsburgh to Keith and Robin (Bivens) Tarbi.  He joined his older brother, Nathaniel Tarbi, who was his first best friend.  He was a 7th grader at Freeport Area Middle School where he loved to make others laugh and on occasion get a little rowdy with his pack of friends.  He was #88 with the Freeport Area Youth Baseball team where his favorite part of the game was running as fast as he could around those bases.  He loved running so much he joined the Freeport Cross Country team who selected him as the “Rookie of the Year--2023.”  He was an active member of the Boy Scouts of America, Birdville Troop 186 in which he was ranked First Class.  He loved the camp outs and spending time with his friends.  Prior to the start of baseball season, Dylan found a new passion in boxing at The Sanctuary Boxing Club, New Kensington.  He truly enjoyed trying new things and spending time outside riding his bike all year round.

This past spring he completed confirmation class at East Union Presbyterian Church, Cheswick, PA in which he became a member of the church on April 14, 2024.  In his statement of faith, he shared about the joy he had in watching the sun rise and set as it served as a daily reminder of God’s love. He was so happy when he was finally old enough to be a member of the East Union Youth Group with his brother.

He is also survived by his maternal grandparents, David and Nancy Bivens (McConnellsburg, PA), paternal grandparents, Carol Froehlich (Bellefonte, PA), Matthew and Phyllis Tarbi (Tarentum, PA).  His aunts and uncles, Kristie (Bivens) & Christopher Gregory, Jill (Bivens) & Robert Silver, Hillary (Emanauelson) & David Rider, Michael Tarbi & Cristian Taraschi, Megan Emanuelson, and Niki (Tarbi) & Trevor Hutchison and cousins, Ryley Breon, Ashlyn (Gregory) Swope, Nolan Heironimus, Grace Gregory, Abby Heironimus, Mason Rider, Maddie Rider, Aubrey Detwiler, Lily Detwiler and many extended family members.  As well as many dear friends.
