Douglas W Nicely

Douglas Wright Nicely, 77, of Avonmore, PA, passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville, PA.  He was born Tuesday, January 11, 1944, in Wilkinsburg, PA, the son of the late Warren Lindley and Ethel Urania Witteberg Nicely.  Douglas loved Native American Imagery, his Cherokee heritage, music, fishing, working on hot rod cars, riding his motorcycle and loved spending time with his grandchildren.  He is survived by 2 daughters, Deborah Morgan and her husband, Charles, of Avonmore, and Laura Annette Kroesen and her husband, Vince, of Cecil, PA 2 sons,  Daniel Nicely (Melissa Kooser) of Hermitage and Duane Nicely of Avonmore, 2 brothers, Warren Nicely of South Carolina, and Wayne Nicely of Pittsburgh, 2 sisters, Laurel Stoewhaas and her husband, Art, of South Carolina and Diana Nelson of Penn Hills; 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, Douglas was preceded in death by his sister, Linda McIntyre and brother Brian Nicely.    Family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, August, 3, 2021 in the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home LTD, 400 Indiana Avenue, Avonmore, PA  from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  Services will be held in the Funeral Home  on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Robert Shallenberger officiating.  Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont, PA
