Doris Ruth (Coleman) Patterson

Doris Ruth (Coleman) Patterson, age 99, of Kiski Twp., Pa., entered eternal life on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Concordia in Cabot, Pa., under the loving care of Good Samaritan Hospice.

Born on Sunday, August 15, 1926, in West Lebanon, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Glenn and Ruth (Dunmire) Coleman. On September 26, 1945, she married James McKee Patterson, her high school sweetheart. Together they shared a long and devoted marriage celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary in 2015.

Doris was a devoted wife, loving mother, and faithful homemaker. She was also the proprietor of Doris Patterson Beauty Shop in Kiski Twp., where she formed lasting friendships and served her community with warmth and kindness. Her Christian faith quietly guided her life, and she found joy in caring for others and trusting in God’s promises.

She is survived by her children: Constance (James) Donovan of Columbia, SC; James (Bonnie) Patterson of Kiski Twp. and William (Maureen) Patterson of Leland, NC; two grandchildren, Stacy (Paul) Gotti of Queen Creek, AZ and Nathan (Terah) Smoyer of Fishers, IN.; and four great-grandchildren, Carlee Gotti, Madison Smoyer, Olivia Smoyer and Jameson Smoyer.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James McKee Patterson in 2016 and her siblings, Dale (Pat) Coleman, and Mabel (Richard) McCormick.

 A Service celebrating Doris’s life and faith will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 11:30AM at Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church, 100 W Main St., Saxonburg, Pa. 16056 with Reverend Doug Dorsey, officiating. Family will receive friends for a public visitation prior to the service, beginning at 9:30 AM. A light lunch will follow the service. Interment will take place at Riverview Cemetery, Apollo, Pa. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church.
