Dean Elden Carnahan, 88, of Bell Township, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Independence Hospital Westmoreland in Greensburg, Pa. He was born on Sunday, November 24, 1935, in Saltsburg, Pa., the son of the late John D. and Mary F. Deemer Carnahan. Before his retirement, he worked as a foreman at National Roll in Avonmore and finished his career at Hyde Park Foundry in Quality Assurance. He was a Mason of the 32nd degree belonging to Lodge # 431 where he was a past Master. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, woodworking and loved his animals. He loved his grandchildren immensely. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Fabec of Bell Twp., his children, Deana Weinfurther and her husband, John of Natrona Heights, Sandra Ammon and her husband, Frank of Saltsburg, Sally Carnahan Wagner of Harbinger, NC and James D. Carnahan and his wife, Debi of Avonmore, 7 grandchildren, Cory Weinfurther and his wife, Alyssa of Murrysville, Kayla Weinfurther (Eric) of Wilmington, NC, Shawn Ruzzi (Tammy) of Coos Bay, Or, Aric Wagner (Britney) of Grandy, NC, Kimber Wood and her husband, Ryan of Jefferson Hills, Benjamin Carnahan and his wife Kassie of New Kensington and Megan Young and her husband, Trevor of Greensburg, 7 great grandchildren and a sister, Beverly Saunders of Houston, Tx. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Edward Carnahan and his grandchildren, Justin Urban and Joshua Weinfurther. All funeral arrangements are private.
