Charles Robert Sanford

Charles Robert Sanford, 86, of Vandergrift, Pa. passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025 at AHN Wexford, Pa. He was born on Thursday, February 23, 1939 in Rimersburg, Pa. the son of the late Charles Robert and Edna Mae Anthony Sanford. Before his retirement, he worked in the dairy department for Giant Eagle, was a Service Station Manager for Boron and did landscaping and mowing. He was a member of Cross Roads Community Presbyterian Church of Leechburg, Pa. He enjoyed bowling, gardening, fishing, playing cards, watching sports and reading. He especially enjoyed and loved family gatherings, family reunions and the time he spent with his family. He is survived by his children, Joi Jeannine Sanford of Vandergrift and Diane Lynn Collier of Vandergrift, 5 grandchildren, Haley, Emma and Sharon Sanford, Alecia Collier and Jeff White, 4 great-grandchildren, Jayce, Elena, Devon and Dean, his companion of 11 years, Margaret Hunter, his sister, Shirley Minnich of Leechburg and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Sharon Blake Sanford, his 2nd wife, Joan Ashbaugh Sanford, his son, Kurt Sanford, his grandson, Edward Grinder and his siblings, Irene Smith, Evelyn Hamilton, Betty Borello, Helen Shute, Sara Curcio and Virginia Womeldorf. Family will receive friends on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Corridoni Funeral Services, Inc. 1916 Moore Ave., North Apollo, Pa. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Corridoni Funeral Services, Inc. 1916 Moore Ave., North Apollo, Pa., Reverend James Arter, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Charles memory to the American Heart Association, 444 Liberty Ave. #1300, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15222. Interment will take place at a later date at Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell, Pa.
