Beverly Yvonne (Fitzwater) Moore

Beverly Yvonne Moore, 71, of Clarksburg, WV, passed away on February 24, 2025 surrounded by family at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa. The cause of death was a cerebral hemorrhage. Beverly was born in Elkins, WV, June 1, 1953 to the late Harold and Helen “Bonnie” Fitzwater of Junior, WV. She graduated from Philip Barbour High School in 1972 where she was an active member of the PBHS Marching Band. Gail Hardy Jr. and Beverly married April 1, 1978 and completed their family with a daughter, Stephanie Yvonne. Beverly and her beautiful soul held many roles in her lifetime – a devoted daughter, sister, wife mother, grandmother, great grandmother, coworker, neighbor and friend. But her favorite role was grandmother to Andrew, Cody and Tyler Reed, Jennifer Doughty and Kinsley Moore. And as a great-grandmother to Oaklee Bea and Hazel Grace Reed, Layne and Lennon Smith, Bryson Alexander, Brynlee Knapp, Kayden Glover and Theodore Robertson. November 15, 2013, found Beverly retiring from the Bridgeport Hill Walmart where she worked for 23 years (October 1990-November 2013). On November 16, 2013, she married Steve Moore, a truck driver for Clayton Trucking. The two had great times for years traveling across the country in Steve’s 18-wheeler. Beverly’s joy for life and vibrant spirit was contagious. She enjoyed taking care of others and sharing her sharp sense of humor whenever she got the chance. Her generosity knew no bounds. She was not only generous in life, but also in death as an organ donor. Although sometimes technology challenged, her passion for being a Mountaineer fan was unwavering. Beverly was an avid camper and spent 30+ years/summers camping at their property in Big Bear Campground. She was one tough person as she survived burning over 75% of her back in an accident at Big Bear and years later, she became a thyroid cancer survivor. Beverly is preceded in death by her parents Harold and Helen Fitzwater, older brother Randall Fitzwater and first husband Gail Hardy, Jr. She is survived by her husband, Steve Moore, his son Robert and daughter-in-law Lisa of Wooster, OH; his daughter Michelle Moore of Wooster, OH; her daughter, Stephanie Kline and son-in-law Daniel “Booie” Kline; Booie’s son Dan and daughter-in-law Emily Kline of Charlotte, NC and daughter Dana and son-in-law Evan of Bradford, PA; and previously named grand and great- grandchildren. Beverly is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts and uncles, and sisters Vicki Reed and family of Belington, WV and Katrina Meadows and family of Saint Leonard, MD.  Beverly’s earthly body was cremated Thursday, March 6, 2025. A celebration of life will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, Beverly asked that you donate to your favorite charity.
