Barbara Jean (Lewis) Wright

Barbara Jean Lewis Wright, 66, of Spring Church, Pa. passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg, Pa. She was born on Sunday, April 7, 1957, in New Kensington, Pa., the daughter of the late Norman P. and Ethel “Sally” Shoemaker Lewis. Barbara was a member of the Lutheran Church in Hyde Park, Pa. She graduated from Kiski Area High School in 1975 and Duff’s Business School in Pittsburgh in 1977. Before retiring, Barabara worked at Armitage Supermarket and Naser Foods in Apollo, Pa., Leading Technologies in Leechburg, Pa, and was a manager for over 25 years for both Subway in Shelocta, Pa. and then finally for Donut Connection in Indiana, Pa. She was an avid reader, enjoyed decorating her home, loved her dogs, Tyson and Toby and yes her cat, Winnie, her donkey, Jasper and her goat, Belle. Barb loved music and singing. She is survived by her husband of 27 years Samuel Leroy Wright of Spring Church, her sister, Debra L. Rock of Landisburg, Pa. and several aunts and uncles and numerous cousins. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Ethel Lewis and Elmer and Ethel Shoemaker, a brother, Norman P. “Butch” Lewis and several aunts and uncles. The family welcomes donations to be made in her memory to the Humane Society of Indiana County, Four Footed Friends of Indiana, Pa. and Orphans of the Storm, Kittanning, Pa.
