Ann Elizabeth (Grafton) Shick

Ann Elizabeth Grafton Shick, 91, of Gilpin Twp. was born on Tuesday, July 24, 1934, and entered into eternal life in heaven on Sunday, November 2, 2025. She lived a full and happy life. She was the daughter of Paul H. and Mary M. Mowry Grafton. She married the love of her life, Richard E. Shick and they had over 69 years of marriage together. She was a member of the First Church of God in North Apollo. Ann enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, reading and spending time with her family and grandchildren. They had 4 children, Reverend Steve Shick (Wendy) of Grand Rapids, Mi., Stephanie Rupert (Pastor Lee) of Vandergrift, Susi Heasley (Dave) of Leechburg and David Shick (Hope) of Vandergrift. Her 13 grandchildren, Joshua, Brendan, Tiffany, Joel, Jonathon, Nathan, Katie, Tanner, Summer, Maya, Ty, Christian and Marley brought her much joy. She also loved her 8 great grandchildren, Sarah, Isaac, Caleb, Maggie, Brody, Conor, Kinsley and Hudson. Until she was unable, she was extremely active in the church and taught children, played piano and gave piano lessons. She was a retired rural mail carrier for the Leechburg post office. She loved her family and friends and loved going on trips with her husband and friends. She is survived by her husband, Richard E. Shick and her 2 siblings, Paul Grafton and Martha Scott. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Mary Grafton and her sister, Mary Paula Grafton Wilson. A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the North Apollo Church of God, 507 20th Street, North Apollo, Pa. with Reverend Steve Shick, Pastor Lee Rupert and Chaplain Joshua Boyd, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ann's memory to Monarch Hospice, 2837 Leechburg Rd., New Kensington, Pa. 15068.
