AR Winfield Shellhammer, 91, of Vandergrift, Pa. passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at his home. He was born on Monday, July 3, 1933 in New Kensington, Pa. the son of the late Lester L. and Dorothy Erb Shellhammer. He was a United States Navy veteran who served two tours in the Korean War. Before his retirement, he was an electrician at Wean United Steel Mill for 29 years. He loved to hunt, fish, camp and run heavy equipment. He dearly loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren who he helped raised and took care of, but the love of his life was his wife, Patricia McLaren Shellhammer. He is survived by his children, Carol Ann Shellhammer of Vandergrift and Lester L. Shellhammer and his wife, Sharon of Ford City, 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, his brothers; Albert Shellhammer and his wife, Kathy and Kenton Lee Shellhammer and his sisters; Mae Ramer and her husband, Bill, Judy Shellhammer, Jean Macafoos, Leitha Anthony and Linda Shellhammer Payne. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia McLaren Shellhammer, his son; William D. Shellhammer, his siblings; Gerald Dorme, Tom Shellhammer, McKee Shellhammer, Catherine Kline and Clair Shellhammer. Family will receive friends on Monday, April 14, 2025 from 11:00 AM until the time of services at 2:00 PM at the Corridoni Funeral Services, Inc., 1916 Moore Ave., North Apollo, Pa. Pastor Patrick Yaconis is officiating. Interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery, Spring Church, Pa.
