Sue G Hollingsworth

Asunta Sue G. “Sundie” Hollingsworth, 82, of Avonmore, Pa., formerly of Murrysville, Pa. passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Concordia in Monroeville. She was born August 15, 1934 in Avonmore the daughter of the late Eugenio and Rosaria DeFabbio Garzone.  Before her retirement, she was an administrative assistant for the United Steel Workers of America in Pittsburgh. She is a 1952 graduate of Avonmore High School. She was a member of Our Lady of Joy Roman Catholic Church of Plum. She enjoyed golfing, was an avid reader, socializing with friends and especially loved her visits with her grandson, Jimmy Hollingsworth. She was a member of the Friendship Club. She is survived by 3 step-children, Ann Carol Mangerie of Kopple, Pa., William “Billy” Hollingsworth and his wife Patricia of Chestertown, MD. and Julia Spry and her husband John of Chestertown, MD, 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, her sister in law, Rachel Garzone of Avonmore and her beloved companion Riki. She is also survived by her nephew Michael “Mutt” Garzone and his wife Sue of Avonmore, were her caregivers for the last several years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold H. Hollingsworth, 5 brothers, Edmond, Joseph, Dominic, Nicholas and Mario Garzone, a sister, Olga Santa Rose Garzone and 2 sisters in laws, Helen and Emily Garzone. A memorial Mass will be conducted at St Ambrose Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 10am with Father John Harrold as celebrant.
