Stella (Drach) Borretsky

Stella Drach Borrestsky, 96, of Avonmore, formerly of Swoyersville, Pa., passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Greensburg Care Center in Greensburg. She was born Sunday, November 26, 1922 in Luzerne, Pa, the daughter of the late Edmund and Agnes Novak Drach. She enjoyed word puzzles, loved to play bingo and enjoyed her trips to the casino. She is survived by  a daughter, Sandy Markitell and her husband , Len, of Avonmore, 4 grandchildren, Karen Rarigh and her husband, Mike, of Dormont, Brian Markitell of Moon Twp, Anthony Aurilia of Scottsdale, Az. and Richard Aurilia and his wife, Amy, of Scottsdale, Az., a brother, Joe Drach of Exter, 2 sisters, Alice LaBatch of Scranton and Romayne Inquanti of West Virginia and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lester Alden Borretsky, a daughter, Lorraine Aurilia, a son, Ronald Borretsky, 3 brothers, Frank Drach, Edmund Drocz and Walter Drach and 2 sisters, Helen Prystauk and Emma Matukonis.  At Stella’s request, all funeral arrangements were private. Interment will be held at Saint Mary’s  Byzantine Catholic Cemetery in Pringle, Pa.
