Ruth Freda (Dunmire) Evans

Ruth Freda Dunmire Evans 89, formerly of Vandergrift, passed away Friday September 29, 2017 at West Haven Manor in Washington Twp. She was born December 5, 1927 in Parks Twp. the daughter of the late Clure(Sr.) and Lena Hochstine Dunmire. Ruth worked for over fifty years as a registered nurse at various hospitals and nursing homes. She retired from Highlands Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Natrona Heights in 2003. After retirement, she enjoyed her time spent with family, friends, and her very special friend, John Carr and his family. She is survived by her sister- in-law, Colene Dunmire of Vandergrift, several nieces and nephews, and her friend John Carr and his family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands; Stephen Vascik and Leonard Evans, three brothers; Clure Dunmire Jr., Robert Dunmire, and Richard Dunmire, and her sister, Elinor Lauffer. Family will receive friends on Monday October 2, 2017 from 3:00 P.M. until time of services at 6:00 P.M. in the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home Ltd. 1916 Moore Ave. North Apollo. Services will be conducted in the funeral home at 6:00 P.M. with Pastor Lee Rupert officiating. Interment will be held in Spring Church Lutheran Cemetery, and will be private.
