Providenza "Provy" (Sturiale) Stapinski

 Providenza (Provy) Sturiale Stapinski of Bell Township passed away in her home on June 18, 2018 after a fourth courageous cancer battle.  She was born in Slickville, PA to the late Carmelo and Carmela Vasta Sturiale. She was a graduate of Avonmore High School.  Provy was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church and a former member of the Rosary Alter Society, and members of the Polish National Alliance Lodge #1234 and the VFW Post 7901 auxiliary in Avonmore. She was an avid polka fan traveling throughout the country following her son’s polka bands, especially enjoying the Seven Springs Polka Fireworks celebration over the July 4th weekends, and loved all of her gambling bus trips to the many different casinos. She was a shopaholic, most recently yard saleing, but her true love was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her personality was larger than life, generous to a fault, and one of a kind.  She was famous for her Italian cooking, especially meatballs and pizzelles. She was employed by Federal Laboratories / Breeze Corporation, Saltsburg, for 33 years until her retirement in 1998, earning perfect attendance for all those years.  She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Henry, daughters Karen (Victor) Sheaffer, Janice (Randy) Galo, son Michael (Gina) Stapinski, grandchildren Stephanie (Jason) Yauger, Steven (Michelle) Galo, Angela (Charles) Thiel and Anthony Stapinski, her great-grandchildren Noah and Sophia Yauger, Clara Galo, Parker and Winston Thiel, as well as her sister-in-laws Ann and Sandra Sturiale and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Guy and Anthony Sturiale. Family will receive friends on Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 2PM to 4PM and 6PM to 8PM in the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home LTD, 400 Indiana Ave., Avonmore, Pa. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, June 22, 2018 at 10AM at Saint Ambrose Roman Catholic Church in Avonmore, Pa. with Father John Harrold as celebrant.
